Now, i’m posting in a collective place, for a better future, for the truth, a place where three black expressionless columns rise against ignorance : lilela.net.
It’s in french because the english internet has already too much stuff in it. The french internet is in dire need of good contents.

Anyway, ptyx.org isn’t dead it’s just sleeping right now.
To give an update to the three people reading this stuff here’s what happened. I joined a television channel here, in Japan. It was pretty gruesome at every level, especially the work hours. I’m doing freelance now while looking for a job, i’m also learning to use very nerdy software that no human being should be confronted with. This is the price we pay for toying with technology i guess.
Anyway i’m looking for a job in the post-production field, in Japan, i’m not looking for freelance stuff, i’m looking for a salary. Yes, i want more hours and more sweat, it probably comes from my catholic upbringing, even though i’m still not religious i still have the masochistic impulses.
Like many gaijins i’m wondering if i should leave japan or not. In a way it has been good for me, the past few years i’ve been there, in another it has been pretty rough.
People working in japanese companies knows what i’m talking about, foreigners or not. I may sound like it but i’m not complaining, i’ve learned a lot and i’m actually grateful for the pain (again that catholic stuff i was talking about).

Anyway we’re pretty happy with lilela (also known as lll), it’s an humble begining, no ego whatsoever, We basically take stuff from the internet, put it there and say “hey look at that!”.
It’s not very original, i know, but it’s done with love, what can you say against that. Love will always triumph, even against bittered internet hipnerd like us.

I quit my company on wednesday and today was the wakarekai. Wakarekai means goodbye party. Unless you’ve worked in a japanese company you have no idea how much this is a big deal. Japanese people put the emphasis on being part of a group and a work group in today’s society is as important as a family can be.
So we gathered in an okinawan restaurant and drank ourself silly while i had to make a speech. The thing is, when you’re leaving a company people thank you for the effort you have put up.
The correct formula is otsukare sama deshita. It means thanks for your effort.
Now, it’s the first time i have to quit a japanese company ans it’s pretty heartbroking. I’m not used to that kind of politeness and caring. In France you would just leave and that would be that.
In Japan it’s a big deal, that’s why they throw a party when you feel you were a key element of the company and they’re sad to let you go.
They made a fucking book for me, where they wish me luck in my next company and thank me for the effort i’ve put up until now. That book is so great it’s probably one of the most important gift anyone has ever gave me.
Everyone in the firm has put up a word of encouragement and since i was working in a design company it has a lot of weird graphic design stuff in it.
They photoshoped my face on the french soccer team, they photoshopped myself with my boss while he was in his teen. It’s like a big book of love dedicated to me that’s why it’s so fucking overwhelming.
I’m really bummed out about leaving that company because the people were great. At the same time the job was the most uninteresting shit so i knew i had to leave someday.
Anyway Sankakusha was a great design studio to work in. I’m scared shitless of the next company i’m gonna join but with that book i feel like i can push over mountains.
So to everyone at Sankakusha, thanks, i’ll never forget.

About 50 percent of all the gaijin that i have met are professional photograhers. Well, they don’t really take the word professional very seriously, it’s like in movies when they say about a bank robber that “he’s a pro”. Bank robbers are by definition “pros”, they get money for what they do, there’s no one that list robbery as a hobby.
Anyway, those professional photographer are usually also professional english teachers. Then there’s the guy at Online photographer that wonders what it would look like if those guys were to give advice to famous photographers.

Charlie Brooker is a writer for the english newspaper The Guardian. He is also the guy that made every argument on the internet useless via this article. It’s funny how sometimes someone much more talented and smart than you are take the chaotic mush that is your train of thought and just put it black & white on paper in a very elegant manner.
This should be on the login page of every message boards on earth.

dDamage are good friends of mine. They also happen to be the hottest shit in the french electronic scene these days.
They started by doing some weird noisy post hip-hop, now they having fight with gigantic apes in the middle of Tokyo.
Their new video(quicktime) for their soon to be released ep Ink 808(Tigerbeat 6) is directed by french illustrator/musician/cartoonist Ra and as the one before it, it just “d�fonce” like we say in France.
